Cable 2 wire cable is the most common. This supplies power and video. The only time a 3 wire cable is needed is if the camera has audio. If you have a high powered camera and you need more than 100 ft. we strongly recommend Siamese cable. This will have 18 gauge for power and RG59 for video.
We always recommend hard wired installations to wireless installations. Cleaner picture, no interference, and complete privacy. Most of our cable is 2 wire cable. This means that it runs power and video together in one cable sheath with 2 connectors on each end. This allows you to power the camera at the same end as you are viewing or recording. We also offer 3 wire cable, which runs power, video, and audio in the same cable sheath. |
