Watermarked encrypted footage will not play on a Windows Media player. Footage cannot be converted to MPEG for altering. These DVR's have their own proprietary media player software (included). Using the proprietary media player prevents tampering with the video file. Whenever footage is burned to CD or DVR, the media player is also burned onto it.
