What
will be on my credit card statement?
Your credit card statement will be billed by Bronzepoint Security
with the phone number 618-277-0452. That is all that will be on
your credit card statement. There will be nothing about Surveillance-spy-cameras.com,
or covert equipment or anything of the like.
Why
do you also need my billing address?
We cannot process orders without the entire correct billing address
of your credit card and phone number. Because of the nature of our
products, the cost involved, and the amount of fraud on the Internet,
we must verify every credit card transaction. The verification process
is automated through the merchant card processing company and they
require that you type in the exact address to where the credit card
is billed. This is for your protection as well as ours. If the billing
address is incorrect, we will have to contact you to find out why.
Special Note: We do not call your home or work and talk to anyone
but you. We don't ask or tell your spouse, child, nanny, or anyone
besides you. We only speak to the person whose name is on the order.
Will
my neighbors, family members, or co-workers know what I ordered
when the package arrives?
All our packages are sent in plain, boring cardboard boxes. The
shipping label will reflect Bronzepoint Security, Inc.
26 Carlyle Plaza
Suite #127
Belleville, IL. 62221
There will be absolutely nothing on the outside of the box stating
what is inside.
How
long before I receive my order?
Standard UPS ground takes 4-7 business days--this method is free
(for orders over $75). You may request Next Day Air, Second Day
Air, etc. We will add the charges to your credit card. Not all items
are available for next day shipping, because some products may take
a couple of days to assemble. Many of our products will ship the
same day or next day, depending on what time you order.
What
do you mean by hard-wired and wireless cameras?
Hard-wired or plug and plug camera means there is a video/power
cable that is connected to the camera. The video portion of the
cable must be connected to the input jack on your recording or viewing
device. The power portion of the cable must supply power to the
camera. The power source is usually a wall outlet or another source
of 110-120 volt power supply that can supply power to the AC adapter.
All our camera operate on 12 volts. The AC adapter converts household
current into 12 volts required for the camera. Many of our cameras
will operate with our 12 volt battery packs as well. 8 batteries
are required to total 12 volts. our 8 pack of "D" batteries will
operate a camera in excess of 18 hours. A wireless camera does
not require a video cable. A wireless camera sends the video
signal to the receiver via a transmitter. This way you can have
a camera in a remote location such as a detached garage or rooftop
without having to run a video cable back to your VCR. The receiver
is connected to the video input jack on your TV, VCR, or whatever
type of monitor you may have. All of our wireless cameras have the
transmitter and receiver included in the price. The receiver is
a small black box about 6"X4"X2" in size. It uses standard RCA cables
to connect to your TV or VCR just like the cables the come with
a VCR. A wireless camera still requires a source of power. The power
may be either from an ac adapter or batteries.
What
is the range of the wireless cameras?
The standard wireless cameras have a range of approx. 700 feet LOS,
depending on the number and type of objects you are transmitting
through, such as brick walls, concrete walls, trees, etc. The high-power
transmitter has a 15-mile line of sight range (1000-3000 foot usable
indoor range). Line of sight means there is nothing between the
transmitter and receiver, for example building top to building top.
How
long can the cameras record?
The amount of recording time is dictated by your recording device.
A standard VCR can record for up to 10 hours if a T-200 tape is
used. We offer a long-playing VCR that will record for 24 to 960
hours on one tape, and also a VCR that only turn on and record when
activity is present (video motion detection-VMD).
What
does resolution and lux mean?
Resolution measures the camera's ability to reproduce an image.
The higher the resolution number, the better the picture quality.
Most TVs only have a resolution of 350 lines. A Sony Trinitron is
up to about 400 lines. Lux is the measure of light the camera needs
to reproduce an image. The lower the number, the less light the
camera needs. A black & white camera will grasp an image longer
than a color camera when the sun starts to go down for example.
Is
a special recorder or monitor needed?
No, Any recording or viewing device with video input capabilities
can be used, for example, a VCR, TV, camcorder, or computer.
Can
I get audio in my hidden camera?
Audio is only available to law enforcement agencies due to federal
law. Title 18, Section 2512.
Do
I have to order online using a credit card?
No, you do not have to order online, but it is the most recommended.
you may call in your order and give your credit card number over
the phone. You may use www.Paypal.com, you may send a money order,
or send payment via a bank wire.
What
do you mean by audio capability?
Many of our receivers and transmitters have audio as well as video
jacks. They are capable of sending and receiving video as well as
audio signals; i.e., a person can plug the transmitter into the
audio and video output jacks of a TV or VCR and send those signals
somewhere else and to another TV or VCR by utilizing the receiver
as described in FAQ # 5.
Is
there only one kind of wireless camera?
No, there are basically three kinds of wireless cameras. 434MHz
wireless cameras do not need a receiver. These have about a 1000
ft. LOS. You must have a cable ready TV set to channel 59 to receive
video signal. By using a regular rabbit ears style antenna attached
to your TV, your will extend the distance or reception of signal.
The actual cable from cable company must be disconnected to allow
the antenna to be utilized. 900MHz cameras require a receiver. These
have about a 1000 ft. LOS. At the present time there are two 900MHz
channels that can be used. This restricts a person from having more
than two cameras per location. The receiver has a tuning knob to
fine tune the channels. 2.4GHz wireless cameras are the most popular
at this time. Standard range if between 700-1000 ft. LOS. Receivers
are either single channel or 4 channel so you can have up to four
wireless cameras per location without any problems. Each transmitter
must to be set to a different channel when utilizing more than one
camera in same location.
I
have a 2.4GHz telephone system, will that be a problem?
Yes, more than likely. There are a number of problems showing up.
When the phone is picked up, the picture may go out. You may not
get any picture at all. There may be a horizontal hold type problem
with the picture. There is no telling what problem may occur because
of all the telephone manufacturers and the different telephones.
If you have a 2.4GHz phone system or any other 2.4GHz system in
your home or office, please consider hard-wired, 900MHz., or replacing
your existing 2.4 appliance. Line of Sight (LOS) means outdoors
in clear, perfect conditions (no walls, trees, or any obstructions).
This rarely happens in real life but this is how most receivers
and transmitters are rated. All our receivers plug and play directly
into your TV or VCR input jacks. Whatever your needs are, we most
likely have what you are looking for. Everything we mentioned above,
we do offer. If you can't find it on our site, call us toll free

What
is Motion Detection (VMD)?
VMD stands for Video Motion Detection. This is a capability
found on many mid to high end VCRs. Basically all this does is have
the unit only record when motion is detected. It is illogical to
record hours upon endless hours of footage, not regarding the fact
of whether anything is actually happening or not. VMD saves you
time and effort required to watch hours of footage looking for something
that happened, instead of only recording what did.
How
does a phone recorder work?
There
are very few limitations on phone recorders. They must be plugged
into a wall telephone jack. Keep in mind that this can be any telephone
jack on the line you wish to record. Most people want phone recorders
that will only record when there is sound on the telephone line,
this makes sense of course. This feature is known as ARS--Automated
Recording System. When the phone rings or is picked up to dial,
the unit will start recording, and will stop when there is silence
for roughly 5 seconds, it will then resume recording when sound
is detected again. It will continue doing this until either the
batteries run out (this can be avoided by using an AC adapter) or
the memory is full. Memory will vary depending on the phone recorder
you purchase.
