| This unit has a built in microphone and direct connect
cable. The decoder will decode 16 digits in each of 3 memories. If more
than 16 digits are entered, the oldest will be deleted. After decoding
tones, the display will show digits for several seconds and then go blank.
To view the digits again, press the button marked "input". Up to 3 ---16
digit sequences will be saved. To erase data, turn the unit off. The unit is powered by a 9 volt battery. To change the battery, simply remove the screw in the center of the decoder and pull the top cover off. Using internal
microphone: Turn the unit on. Hold the decoder 2-3 inches from the speaker with the
microphone facing the speaker. Using cable
connector: Plug the cable into a jack marked "reset" and into the tone
source output. ( On a tape recorder this is normally the earphone output)
Play tones and adjust the volume level on the tape recoder until the unit begins reading
tones. Using direct
connect telephone cable: Plug the supplied cable into a standard modular telephone
jack and into the tone decoder jack marked "ext". As the numbers
are entered on a touch- tone phone, they will appear on the decoder. ( Up to
