| Baluns are designed to run video for up to 1000 ft. over Cat 5 cable. The baluns also have and extra pair of wires that can be used for audio, RS-485 PTZ control, or another video signal. These baluns can be used for regular cameras by running the video through Cat 5 or for PTZ cameras by running the video and PTZ control through Cat 5. It is always recommended to use local power for PTZ cameras. You may use these baluns for power as well if the run is less than 200 ft.
Using baluns allow you to send video and RS-485 PTZ control through regular Cat 5. Save time and money by using regular Cat 5 cable when installing cable. No need to run separate control wire. It can all be sent through standard Cat 5 cable. Baluns allow your cameras to be installed more easily using your existing wiring. Connect a PTZ to a normal Cat 5 jack and view and control your PTZ camera from another office through the existing wiring.
These baluns convert stadard cabling into twisted pair wiring. This allows easier and longer runs of cable. Run up to 1000ft of Cat 5 for your PTZ camera.
